Uninstalling SIMetrix

SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS can be removed using the Windows® installation utility. This will remove all program components that were added during installation, but will leave all user files (settings and schematics/scripts etc) on the computer.

If you wish to perform a clean uninstall then before running the installation utility, open SIMetrix and in the command line type: show_folders. This will produce a pop-up box stating the locations where SIMetrix has stored user files that will not be removed during the uninstallation procedure.

To perform the product uninstallation:

1. Make sure SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS are closed.
2. Run the uninstall program:
   • Windows 10: On the start menu, find the SIMetrix product you wish to remove in the Apps list, right click the product and click Uninstall.
   • Windows 8: From the start screen click Control Panel, then under Programs click Uninstall a Program. Find the SIMetrix product you wish to remove, right click the product and select Uninstall.
   • Windows 7: On the start menu click Control Panel, then under Programs click Uninstall a Program. Find the SIMetrix product you wish to remove, right click the product and select Uninstall.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the installed components of SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.
