Portable License
A SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS portable license is locked to a USB dongle, meaning that the software will only run on the single computer that the dongle is plugged into. This makes a portable license ideal for: individual users or those without network access; engineers that need to travel and retain use of the software; or small groups of engineers that can share the license by swapping the dongle between them as needed.
The License Agreement allows for the software to be installed on any number of machines, but use of the software is restricted to the single computer that has the dongle plugged in.
Important: Portable licenses do not work with remote access. If you require remote access to SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS you will require either a LAN license or a WAN license.
Important: Note that lost or damaged USB dongles may be replaced subject to our Dongle Replacement Policy
