Update Network License Manager

SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS version 8.2 requires license manager version 11.15.0.0 or later. This page describes how to update an existing installation of the license manager to the later version. If you have not yet installed the license manager, please visit Network License Manager Installation.

Notes

While updating the license server files, you must ensure that you are using the latest license file that we have issued to you. License files issued before around March 2016 will not function with the new license manager version. Contact support@simetrix.co.uk if you need an updated license file.

The new license manager version supports older versions of SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS back to and including version 6.0.

Updating on Windows

1. Download this file: flexlm-win.zip
2. Shut down the license manager: from the Services Icon, locate the service SIMetrix/SIMPLIS License Manager then select then right click menu Stop.
3. Unzip the file downloaded in the earlier step and replace these files:
   • lmgrd.exe
   • NEWTECH.exe
   • pdt.exe
   • lmutil.exe
4. Restart the license manager: from the Services Icon, locate the service SIMetrix/SIMPLIS License Manager then select then right click menu Start.

Updating on Linux (64 bit only)

1. Download this file: flex-linux-x64.tar.gz
2. Shut down the license manager
3. Unpack the file downloaded in the earlier step and replace these files:
   • lmgrd
   • NEWTECH
   • pdt
   • lmutil
4. Restart the license manager
