SIMetrix in common with most Windows applications includes an uninstall utility. However, the uninstall program does not remove everything from the system. Any files that you create will remain on your system and many files that are created by SIMetrix while you use it will also remain. The following describes where you may find some files that the uninstall program may leave behind.
SIMetrix is a non-invasive application. Installing SIMetrix will not update system files, install permanently running processes or install plugins such as Shell or web browser extensions. Also, SIMetrix does not use the registry except to register itself and an uninstall command.
In short, installing SIMetrix will not interfere with your system, it will not interfere with any other applications and it will not slow down your system in any way.
There is no uninstall program supplied with Linux versions. To remove simply delete the folder where you installed it. This is usually /usr/local/simetrix_xx where xx is the version. Files are also installed to /usr/local/lib/simetrix/x.x where x.x is the version. You should only remove these files if you are removing all versions of SIMetrix on your system.
In addition to the standard program files, SIMetrix uses other directory locations for its configuration and temporary files. Use the 'show_folders' script as described above for uninstalling on Windows to find these locations.
